With power comes… whatever you want

Today, 5 May, the court deemed what happens in Australia, stays in Australia. Hence, there’s no bearing or consequence to the Prayut Chan-o-cha Regime.

Therefore, Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Thamanat Prompow is free to continue his service for the Kingdom of Thailand, in spite of his previous prison sentence for “flour” trafficking conviction in Australia.

The verdict is another proof that there’s no rule of law in Thailand, only the rule of power. Over the past year and a half, Deputy Minister Thamanat has become a key power player and dealmaker for the Prayut Regime. And, words through the grapevine have it, Palang Prachrat’s party secretary following the next election.

He’s too valuable.

He knows it. The regime knows it. The Thai people know it. The decision is to no one’s surprise.

Just don’t file your shareholding in a defunct celebrity gossip magazine too late, cos that’s really serious stuff.
