Since the 1932 Revolution, Thailand has had 20 constitutions and 20 military coup attempts. Currently, pro-democracy protestors are demanding constitutional reform to have the people’s constitution. Meanwhile, political conflicts escalate and rumors of another military coup flies.

However, two previous army chiefs, General Prayut Chan-o-cha and General Sondhi Boonyaratkalin, also dismissed coup rumors during their time. But still, they toppled the democratic government in 2006 and 2014, respectively.
